Steak was terrible. I know how good food taste and this place sale the most terrible steak. The steak literally have no taste. The food itself was nasty and the make the food with the lowest quality. Overall this place the best restaurant to get overprice nasty food. But the bread was good.
Service was terrible. Could not find our server anywhere. Had to flag for service too many times. Let’s just say I will never go back, service at Ruby Tuesday is a hundred times better than Lonestar.
Food is ordinary. It is overpriced for what it is. Service is average.
For an upper-priced restaurant, the singing of “Happy Birthday” is very disturbing to other customers. It is hard to relax during your meal. You do that at Chili’s, Bennigan’s, etc. BUT NOT in a steakhouse.
In Texas, we do not have fruity tea!
I am not returning to the restaurant.
Very bad service! I complained so many times to Lonestar management on Guam that they finally had one of their waitresses deliberately be mean to me so I’d never come back. LOUSY management, and I mean lousy! I sat forever waiting for a drink, they took away my food when I went to the bathroom (I wasn’t done eating). I told the waiter not to remove my food, but the table cleaner took my food away instead. No one offered me a free meal. I sat for 20-minutes one day while no one ever came back to wait on me. Really bad service and some rotten attitudes. The manager I dealt with was really lousy. When I complained about lousy service, not once did they ever offer to knock off the 15% gratuity, I had to argue with them. Gratuity is just a forced tip for lousy service, and in my opinion it makes waiters lazy and cocky. Go to Outback Steakhouse on Guam, because Lonestar is garbage.
In addition to the previous comment (by Arlene) dated September 15, 2010, I was the guest that was served my meal after my two coworkers (who placed their orders 5 mins prior to mine). We arrived to Lone Star at 11:20am. I ordered my food at 11:30am.
My Texas Burger was not served to me until 12:25pm, even after numerous ‘check ups’ w/ my waitress, a waiter, and Manager. My waitress (I wished I picked up her name) was insincere and told me “Well, you ordered after them..” True, but I didn’t expect my food to come 55 mins later and along w/ friends who came in 30 mins after me!!
Questions I have as part of the experience then are:
– Why did my food come out late?(I understand it was busy)
– Why were our drinks served right before our food came? (It would’ve been refreshing),
– Why didn’t the bread come out earlier? (after I requested for it),
– Why weren’t our drinks repeatedly refilled? (again, after I requested for it and that was like Once*we’re not billy goats).
Our reservations was probably close to 50-55 ppl…Drinks, bread, and high stress should’ve been expected.
The manager was professional and I thank him for understanding my dilemma.
P.S.
I worked at Lone Star back in 1995.
On September 15, 2010, my co-workers and I attended a luncheon in the restaurant’s banquet area. There were over 50 persons in the party.
We were very disappointed with the service. Drinks and food were not delivered promptly and when it was brought to the attention of both the server and even the manager, the response was very poor and insincere. The waitress’ explanation was that one order was not submitted with two others, yet orders of others who arrived much later received their meals.
Prior to the manager arriving at the table after our request, a server still asked if we wanted to see the manager assuming we no longer wanted to speak to one since the meal was eventually delivered. Given the size of the party, water and bread should have already been prepared and served upon customers being seated.
This is not the first time I experienced such service and I am not inclined to recommend Lone Star as a venue for large groups.
This place was very disappointing. My wife and I went here on March 21st, 2010. First of all, the hostess got us drinks after ten minutes because we still had no server. Then he served dinner rolls that was basically raw dough.
The server told me the day’s special (rack of lamb) was a 20 oz serving for two, and when they brought it out the accompanying steak fries were cold and the lamb was mostly fat, hardly any meat, and certainly not worth the $34.99 price.
To top it off, I went into the bathroom and witnessed a kitchen worker relieve himself, check himself in the mirror and walk out without washing his hands!
This is a real local favorite because of it’s welcoming atmosphere, excellent food & cocktails, and great service.
It’s also conveniently located in Tamuning, and parking is a breeze, so I can see why the place is always loaded.
I love the appetizers and cocktail drinks here. I try to make it for happy hour when I can, because they give pretty big drink discounts.
