Best Crepe in Guam. Guam Crepe. guam travel, Crepes are famous to many countries just like France in which they (crepes) are considered a national dish. Crepe is originally a French word, but was derive from the Latin word crispa which means “curled”. Crepes started in Brittany but have spread even to Unites States and some other countries. Ham, cheese, asparagus, eggs, mushrooms, spinach, artichoke, and ratatouille or even several kinds of meat are common savoury fillings for crepes. It is normally prepared by pouring a thin liquid batter into a hot frying pan that has butter on it. There basic ingredients would be eggs, milk, butter, some salt and not to forget the flour. Crepes mainly have 2 types which are sweet crepes (made with wheat flour that is slightly sweet) and the savoury galettes (made with buckwheat flour and unsweetened). By the way, galette was derived from the French word galet which means pebble. They named it after this since the first galettes were made on a large pebble heated in a fire. It’s good to know that the island of Guam has some creperie or restaurants or stalls that serve crepes. This fact can add up as an asset for the island especially to crepe lovers or to some French tourists.
